"Although I never meant to imply that I am an 'elite white person,' as stated later in the conversation, there's no excuse for that word choice and sentiment. While it was poor, my heart is not. Now, more than ever, is the time for support and togetherne s and I stand against racism 100%. I promise to commit myself to being a part of the solution in this country. I addre sed my teammates and coaches in a team meeting today and I hope they see this incident is not representative of the person I am. Again, I'm truly sorry for my words and actions and humbly ask for forgivene s."Although the texts were released to Twitter early Thursday, Fromm actually sent them more than a year ago while he was a student at UGA. The date on the text me sage is listed as March 16, 2019. The person who leaked the text me sages on Twitter was apparently asked to delete the tweets, but as of 3:15 p.m. ET on Thursday, they were still up.Fromm has only been with the Bills since April, when he was selected during the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
